By default, your pages are available at yourbrand.blox.page. You can connect a custom domain to serve pages from your own URL, like landing.yourcompany.com.
Adding a custom domain
- Open your brand settings
- Navigate to the Domains section
- Enter your domain (e.g.,
landing.yourcompany.com)
- Click Add
Blox registers the domain and provides DNS configuration instructions.
Each brand can have one custom domain. All pages on the brand share this domain.
Configuring DNS
After adding your domain, you need to update your DNS settings. Blox provides the records you need to add:
CNAME record
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|
| CNAME | landing (or your subdomain) | ssl.blox.page |
If you’re using the root domain (apex), you may need to use your DNS provider’s CNAME flattening feature, as not all providers support CNAME records on root domains.
TXT record (if required)
Some configurations require a TXT record for SSL certificate verification. If needed, Blox displays the record details:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|
| TXT | Provided by Blox | Provided by Blox |
Verifying your domain
After updating DNS:
- Return to the Domains section in settings
- Click Verify to check the configuration
- Blox confirms whether DNS is correctly configured
DNS changes can take time to propagate. If verification fails, wait a few minutes and try again.
Verification status
Your domain shows one of these statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|
| Pending | Domain added, awaiting DNS configuration |
| Verifying | Checking DNS and provisioning SSL certificate |
| Verified | Domain is active and ready to use |
| Failed | Configuration issue detected |
Once verified, SSL certificates are automatically provisioned and your pages are accessible at your custom domain.
Using your custom domain
After verification, your pages are available at:
https://yourdomain.com/page-slug
The default yourbrand.blox.page URLs continue to work as well.
Updating published pages
When you add or verify a custom domain, published pages show “unpublished changes” because their URLs have changed. Republish your pages to update them with the new domain configuration.
Removing a custom domain
To remove your custom domain:
- Open the Domains section in settings
- Click the delete button next to your domain
- Confirm the removal
Blox automatically republishes all pages to revert to the default blox.page domain.
Cookie sharing
Custom domains enable cookie sharing across subdomains. This is useful if you want to track visitors across multiple subdomains on your domain.
For example, if your custom domain is landing.example.com, cookies can be shared with www.example.com for cross-domain tracking.
SSL certificates
SSL certificates are automatically provisioned for verified custom domains. Blox handles:
- Certificate issuance
- Automatic renewal
- HTTPS enforcement
All traffic to your custom domain uses HTTPS by default.
Troubleshooting
Domain stuck in “Verifying”
- Double-check your DNS records match exactly what Blox specified
- Wait for DNS propagation (can take up to 48 hours, though usually faster)
- Try clicking Verify again after waiting
SSL certificate errors
- Ensure the CNAME record points to
ssl.blox.page
- Check that no conflicting records exist for the same subdomain
- Contact support if issues persist after 24 hours
Pages not loading
- Verify your pages are published (not just the domain)
- Check that the page slug in the URL is correct
- Ensure the domain status shows “Verified”
